PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy)

PGT-A is a genetic screening test used during IVF to examine embryos for chromosomal abnormalities. It helps increase the chances of a successful pregnancy and reduces the risk of miscarriage or genetic disorders.

PGT-A Process

Step 1

IVF and Embryo Development

Embryos are created via IVF. Once they reach the blastocyst stage (around day 5 or 6), a few cells are carefully biopsied for testing.

Step 2

Genetic Analysis

The sampled cells are analyzed in a lab to check for chromosomal abnormalities, such as missing or extra chromosomes that could affect development.

Step 3

Embryo Selection

Only chromosomally normal (euploid) embryos are selected for transfer, increasing the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy and reducing risks.

Step 4

Embryo Transfer & Follow-Up

A healthy embryo is transferred to the uterus, and the patient is closely monitored to support a successful pregnancy.
